New Year’s Resolutions

Do you make them? Do you keep them? Do you think they’re worth it or a total waste of time?

Personally, I’m a bit indifferent to New Year’s Resolutions. I don’t view them as a bad thing at all. And if you happen to make one and stick to it then all power to you!

In fact, I made a resolution myself back at the end of 2015 to stop biting my nails. Bear in mind, I’ve bitten my nails down to nothing pretty much since I’ve had teeth in my head. I’d tried and failed in the past to stop biting but to no avail. This time I was determined and I’m pleased to say, 3 years on, my nails are chomp-free!

(In case it wasn’t glaringly obvious, that ain’t me up there 😂)

However, there’s plenty of other resolutions I’ve made in the years gone by and I have to be honest – I never stuck to them.

But here’s the thing. No matter what it is that you either want to stop doing or want to start doing – you can attempt this at any time of the year. Don’t wait till the clock strikes midnight on 1st January each year, go out and get it now guys!

Time is precious and life is short so I say, if you want to do something badly enough then go for it now; there’s no time like the present.

All the best for 2019 and thank you so much for joining me on my blogging journey in 2018, I hope to see more of you next year!

  1. I agree with you – people can do whatever they want as long as it makes them happy and doesn’t harm others. Same goes for resolutions. I’m bad at sticking with my resolutions because most of them were made for the sake of making some @__@. Though, hope 2019 will be a great year for you!!

    1. Agreed, you should only make one (or some) if you truly want to and not feel pressured to just for the sake of it. Thank you for reading and happy new year! 😊

  2. I’m going to make some myself, but I will do my best to make them achievable – not some over-arching grand goal. Kudos on stopping the nail biting! How did you manage to stop? Will power, awareness, or was their a certain technique you used?

    1. Yeah I think setting goals is the way forward for sure! And thank you, I still look down at my long nails and can’t quite believe they’re mine 😂

  3. I have never been much for new year’s resolutions, because I never tend to keep them. I think it’s better to make the changes when you’re truly ready to make them, amd that’s very rarely on 1st January! I am usually at my weakest and most inclined to give into bad habits then.
