Hey all. As some of you may – or may not – know, I’ve recently had a change in job and upon leaving, my amazing former workmates gifted me with a spa day at Village Hotel in Warrington alongside some other fab goodies. I took the spa day this week and decided to write a post about it to let you know my thoughts.
On reading the fine print, the spa day voucher was for use on any weekday. You could use it during a weekend but you would have to pay a supplement towards this. I decided to book a Monday off work and enjoy a long weekend. I then took the “treat yourself” mantra a stage further and booked myself into the hotel for the night! Well, why not?
I managed to get a bargain rate of £39 for a standard double room for the Sunday from booking.com
Luckily for me, when I arrived on Sunday afternoon, I’d been upgraded to a Club room at no extra cost! Club rooms are a bit fancier than the standard types, with bigger and more comfortable beds, a heeeeuuuuuuge TV with full Sky package, free mineral water and a Tassimo coffee machine.
The room was lovely and had everything you could need such as a hairdryer plus an iron and ironing board. The bathroom is kitted out with ESPA products too for that extra touch of class.
I kicked back, watched some TV and treated myself to room service which was delicious! I had halloumi and vegetable skewers with rustic chips plus some houmus and bread. I needed to be practically rolled to the bathroom later on!
I made full use of the beautiful waterfall shower, ESPA products and fluffy towels before curling up in bed to sleep soundly before my spa experience.
I checked out the next morning and headed to the spa. My voucher included two 25 minute treatments that I could select from a list. I opted for a neck/back/shoulder massage and a skin revitalising facial. All products used in the spa are again by ESPA. My therapist was a lovely lady called Karolina who was very knowledgable on the products that she used during my treatments.
Following my treatments, Karolina handed me a booklet where she had helpfully ticked all the products she had used on me, subject to my skin type. The spa have a supply of products if you wish to purchase any of them. I opted for the Refining Skin Polish which is so lovely to use. It’s really creamy with tiny sand-like particles in it for gentle exfoliation. It also smells devine! I may have to put some of the other products on my Christmas list…
My spa voucher also included full use of all facilities such as the gym (which if you know me at all, you’ll know that I didn’t use 😂😂), the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, which I took full advantage of. A towel and snuggly robe were also loaned to me during my visit, as per the spa voucher. I left there feeling incredibly relaxed and spoilt!
Overall, I had a lovely experience at the Village Hotel and spa and extend my sincere thanks to my lovely workmates! I will definitely return for further visits and would recommend it to anyone.
Sounds like you had a really lovely time – what great work friends!! I’ve been wanting to do a spa weekend for so long and your review has only made me more tempted! Thanks for sharing your experience 💛
